Classic hometown restaurant with great barbeque, catfish, and similar Mississippi fare. Family-style seating in a conversation-friendly environment, with State games playing quietly on the TVs so you can keep up with the hometown teams. Recommended!

Hosts were very warm and showed warm hospitality. Fried pickles, fish, ribs, fried crawfish tails, and yes thier gumbo.all with southern flavors, sweet spicey and yummy. Go on an empty tummy. Thier food is worth filling up. It's a place needed to experience. 🤙😊

We have been twice recently. I had the pulled pork grilled cheese and it was amazing! Second time I had the big pork mac and cheese and it was good but I preferred the pulled pork grilled cheese if you are stuck deciding between the two. My husband had one of the platters and he had crawfish tails on it. Very large portion and he said it was very good.

Their fried chicken fingers are absolutely to die for and it's been a dog's age since I've had such good food from Dooey's.

The good. I like the atmosphere, the BBQ pork sandwich was great you could tell it was fresh. The bad.I know this is subjective to everyone, but for me the sauce was way, way to sweet and not enough flavor. If you like a darker molasses based sauce like me you probably won't like their sauce either. Would I come back? Maybe, but hold the sauce...

Food was amazing. Great place to stop and eat on our way back to MO. Catfish is out of the world good. The grilled cheese sandwich is awesome. The people were very nice and helped us figure out what to get. Thank you for the great dining experience for my family

The food was excellent. The cashiers were not able to give me specific answers to some of my questions as a first timer (maybe they were new).

Brisket sandwich on texas toast was good. If you dont like a lot of fat on your sandwich you might want to speak up when you order.

Excellent seafood! Ordered the shrimp and oyster platter, large shrimp and large oysters very pleased with how fresh they were!

Everything was awesome. The food, service, scenery. My daughter is a student as MSU an this is her favorite stop after church.

I had the blackened shrimp, turnip greens, corn on the cob, hush puppies. I enjoyed the greens and hush puppies. The corn was gummy, the blacked shrimp was super salty and the sweet tea taste like sugar water. I was pretty disappointed. I did return and ordered the fried shrimp and greens with hush puppies and was very satisfied. Therefore, I give a 3 star.

Had my first taste of crawfish here. It was delicious. The room was surrounded in BBQ and catfish. Everything looked amazing. I'll definitely be back for that as well.

One of the best BBQ joints on earth. Everything is great, but the ribs and turnip greens are the best I’ve had anywhere.

Omg this has to be my favorite place. It’s my second time coming. The food is awesome. The staff are very courteous and friendly. The food comes out hot and fresh.

I am from Kansas City, MO where were known for our barbecue and good food but when it comes to fresh fish I must admit, this place was super delicious!!I ordered the blackened catfish and shrimp with greens, sausage and hush puppies. The flavor was spot on and the fish tasted so fresh! The greens were delicious and the seasonings weren't overpowering. The hushpuppies complimented the savory meal adding a hint of sweetness. I will definitely visit again!

Smells great, love the atmosphere. Pulled pork was on the dry side. Sides were about the worst I have ever had. Baked beans were incredibly sweet and the coleslaw was runny and sweet.

Have loved this place for the last 25 years. Always friendly faces. Good food. Best corn salad anywhere.

This place is awesome! I can't get turnip greens, fried okra or good hush puppies at home... so when I have the good fortune of visiting MSU, Lil Dooey's is a must! 😋

A typical southern style, self- service eatery, famous for It’s BBQ and catfish. Love their pulled pork or brisket or the fried fish. The meat is so tender, that you can cut it with a plastic knife. Most of the time, they are pretty crowded. You might get trouble with parking. This is somebody’s house, turned into a restaurant. So the interior and the layout is little different. May be because of that, the inside is little smelly!However, must visit if you are around.

First time to try after many attempts. Excellent tamales and quite possibly the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. My wife had the grilled cheese with pulled pork. WOW!! We will definitely be back!!

Great little spot for local food. Catfish filets are particularly good and come out so hot you could grill another one on top of it. Staff is expectedly warm and friendly, and happy to help! Seating is split into several small rooms and preserves intimate dining for the most part.

Great service and very reasonable prices. Food was good. Didn't get that "blow my socks off" effect I had expected based on other reviews. Next time in town I'll definitely sample another BBQ establishment.

Don’t get me wrong, amazing place. Love the food and environment. Would eat here everyday if I could BUT.... never allow the guy with the horrible facial hair structure to work again. Dude acts like he has never seen a computer and doesn’t know how to read a receipt. For the sake of a migraine, I just took whatever the food they gave me. I paid more than should have. Please get rid of him for the community’s sake. Thank you. He basically called me stupid and referred to me as “bud”.
